Artificial intelligence is gradually becoming essential in travel agencies. From itinerary planning and sales proposals to content creation, document analysis, and information retrieval, its applications are multiplying. However, not all AI solutions address the same needs. After several weeks of testing, I offer a comparison of the main tools and, more importantly, the situations in which they bring real value to a travel agency.
Summary
AI cannot replace a travel advisor
Before comparing the tools, one point deserves to be reiterated. No artificial intelligence can replace a GDS, a booking engine, or the expertise of a travel advisor. AI is an excellent assistant for preparing, organizing, writing, or analyzing information, but it must always be used with human oversight.
For a travel agency, the real gain lies in the time saved on repetitive tasks in order to devote more time to advice and customer relations.

My comparison of the best AIs
| Tool | Key point | Ideal for | My rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Versatility | Sales, writing, analysis | ★★★★★ |
| Claude | Writing quality | Business proposals | ★★★★★ |
| Gemini | Google Ecosystem | Research and Workspace | ★★★★☆ |
| Perplexity | Sourced research | Tourist monitoring | ★★★★☆ |
| Mistral the Cat | French alternative | Daily productivity | ★★★★☆ |
| Microsoft Copilot | Microsoft 365 Integration | Word, Excel, Outlook | ★★★★☆ |
ChatGPT remains the benchmark
For me, ChatGPT is currently the most comprehensive tool for a travel agency. It can prepare a travel program, revise a quote, create a newsletter, analyze a supplier brochure, summarize a contract, or even generate ideas for social media posts.
Its strength lies in its versatility. However, sensitive information (formalities, prices, availability or schedules) should always be verified with official sources or suppliers.
Claude impresses with the quality of his writing
Claude, developed by Anthropic, often produces very natural-sounding texts. I find it particularly effective for writing business proposals, blog articles, or lengthy responses to clients.
If your agency focuses on editorial content and writing quality, Claude clearly deserves a place in your toolbox.
Gemini appeals to Google users
Gemini integrates seamlessly with Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive. For an agency already using Google Workspace, this integration simplifies certain daily tasks such as writing emails or summarizing documents.
Its main strength remains its ecosystem rather than its pure performance.
Perplexity, the champion of research
When I need to prepare an article or quickly check a topic, Perplexity is one of my favorite tools.
It typically cites its sources, making it easy to verify information. For an agency that regularly monitors destinations, trends, or regulations, it's an excellent complement to ChatGPT.
Mistral Le Chat, the European alternative
Developed by the French company Mistral AI, Le Chat is progressing rapidly. The tool is simple, fast, and particularly attractive for companies looking to use a European solution.
It is very suitable for daily writing, summaries or internal communications.
Microsoft Copilot for teams using Microsoft 365
Agencies that primarily work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook will find Copilot of particular interest.
It allows you to summarize meetings, prepare presentations or analyze Excel spreadsheets directly within Microsoft applications.
Which AI should you choose based on your profession?

- Marketing department: Claude.
- Competitive intelligence: Perplexity.
- Google Workspace team: Gemini.
- Microsoft environment: Copilot.
- European solution: Mistral Le Chat.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should we pay for an AI?
Free versions allow you to explore the tools. For daily professional use, a paid version generally offers more features, performance, and stability.
Can an advisor be replaced by AI?
No. AI prepares, organizes and writes, but it does not replace advice, commercial responsibility, or human interaction.
Can multiple AIs be used?
Yes, and it's often the best strategy. Many companies use ChatGPT for production, Perplexity for research, and Claude for improving writing.
Key takeaways
- ChatGPT remains the most versatile tool today.
- Claude excels at writing.
- Perplexity is ideal for information retrieval.
- Gemini and Copilot are particularly appealing because of their integration into their ecosystems.
- Mistral Le Chat represents a credible European alternative.
Artificial intelligence will not replace travel agencies. However, agencies that learn to use these tools will save valuable time and be able to focus on what truly sets them apart: supporting travelers.
