The Respire Association is preparing for its 2026 academic year with new governance and a more structured direction

Date:

The Respire association is approaching the start of the 2026 academic year with a clearer roadmap. During its end-of-year General Assembly, the collective announced a new internal organization, the launch of "Respire Jeunes," a presence at IFTM Top Resa, and an invitation to participate as a partner in the next edition of A World for Travel.

For tourism professionals, this issue deserves attention. Groups that can strengthen their governance while gaining visibility at major industry events can have a greater impact on discussions about the transformation of tourism. This is precisely the path the Respire association aims to take.

A new governance structure announced by Respire

In its July 2026 press release, Respire indicated that Fabio Casilli was confirmed as president. Ghislaine Abbassi was announced as operational vice-president, Véronique Narayana Swamy as vice-president in charge of ethics and professional conduct, Nicolas Guillemin as secretary general, and Vanessa Loustau as deputy secretary general.

The Respire association is setting a new course to structure the tourism of tomorrow.

Respire Jeunes is part of a continuity

One of the most prominent announcements concerns the launch of "Respire Jeunes," a branch dedicated to students and young professionals. The press release specifies that this project will be led by Keanu Dupoux and Alyssa Bonato.

Here again, a distinction must be made between the announcement and its public implementation. The Respire website already has a page dedicated to students, proof that this theme was already present in the collective's activities. The novelty, therefore, lies less in the existence of an interest in young people than in the desire to make this a more visible and structured branch of the organization from the start of the academic year.

A confirmed presence at IFTM and an invitation to A World for Travel

Respire also announces its presence at IFTMTop Resa, scheduled for September 15-17, 2026 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. For the association, this event remains a logical point of contact with tourism professionals, partners, and schools.

The press release also mentions an invitation extended by Frédéric Vanhoutte for Respire to be one of the partners of the next edition of A World for Travel. The forum does indeed announce a 2026 edition in Paris, on October 29 and 30, with a session at the National Assembly. However, at the time of verification, the detailed public list of partners did not yet allow for independent confirmation of Respire's participation. The most reliable interpretation, therefore, is to refer to it as an invitation extended by the association.

What we can retain without overinterpreting

The most solid facts are the following: Respire has existed since 2020, the collective emphasizes a positioning focused on more sustainable tourism, IFTM 2026 and A World for Travel 2026 are indeed scheduled, and the press release of July 2026 announces a new governance as well as a more ambitious back-to-school sequence.

However, some information is still based on statements made by the association at the time of verification. This is the case for the precise composition of the new board as announced in the press release, as well as Respire's participation as a partner in A World for Travel, which still needs to be publicly confirmed by the organizers.

As Fabio Casilli stated in the press release: “This AGM demonstrates Respire’s maturity. By combining the experience of our long-standing members, the rigor of our managers, and Keanu and Alyssa’s raw energy for youth, we have formed a team ready to take on any challenge. The success of our event in Toulouse, our long-standing presence at IFTM, and the other initiatives
we are working on and committed to prove that the collective is more vibrant and relevant than ever.”
