On board the Club Med 2, Amadeus 's presentation at Cediv Travel's Convenc'Tour 2026 raised a very concrete issue for agencies: how to use technology without losing sight of the core business? Activities, hotels, PNR, assisted search, artificial intelligence… Behind the tools, the real challenge is simple: to save advisors time and enable them to sell more effectively.
Summary
Amadeus Discover wants to open up the sale of activities
The first key feature presented was Amadeus Discover, a solution designed to help agencies sell activities worldwide. The presentation mentioned approximately 300,000 available activities, which can be used as a white-label solution or via a portal.
For a travel agency, this is no small detail. Selling a trip can no longer be limited to transportation and accommodation. Clients expect experiences: sightseeing, restaurants, amusement parks, excursions, and moments to be enjoyed at the destination. This is often where the agency can regain control over the value proposition.
What I take away from this is that the activity becomes a fully-fledged sales lever. It allows you to complete the package, personalize the trip, and above all, show the client that the agency is not just selling a departure, but a trip built down to the last detail.

The hotel is better integrated into the agency's journey
Amadeus also highlighted the benefits of Amadeus Value Hotels. The idea is clear: to allow agencies to book hotels in a more integrated environment, with smoother management within Amadeus and a PNR system similar to that used in the airline industry.
In the day-to-day operations of an agency, this point is crucial. Fewer open platforms, less data re-entry, fewer back-and-forths between multiple tools: this means less wasted time and fewer risks of error. In a competitive market, productivity isn't a dirty word. It's essential for maintaining profit margins and service quality.
In the context of Convenc'Tour 2026, this issue of productivity echoes the discussions heard since the start of the convention: agencies need to better demonstrate their value while saving time on technical tasks. This is precisely where this type of tool can be useful: simplifying the technical aspects to free up more time for consulting.
AI is only useful if it saves time
The most important part, for me, concerns artificial intelligence. In this presentation, AI was not presented as a miracle solution, but as a building block already integrated into certain uses.
The most striking example concerns searches in Amadeus Discover. A family with two children won't necessarily get the same results as another type of traveler. AI is presented here as a way to tailor results to the search profile. It doesn't replace the advisor; it helps them arrive at a relevant suggestion more quickly.
Another avenue explored is the ability to more easily retrieve information within a Passenger Name Record (PNR) or to more readily access elements related to fare notes. For a travel agent, this is very tangible. It means minutes saved, fewer frustrations, and sometimes even errors avoided.
What this really changes for agencies
What I take away from this Amadeus session is that AI shouldn't be viewed in isolation. The real issue is the agency's sales organization. If the tool helps sell more activities, integrate hotels more easily, retrieve information faster, and better personalize proposals, then it becomes useful.
For Cediv Travel agencies, the challenge is very clear: to use technology to enhance advice, not to replace it. An agency that saves time on technology can spend more time on what makes it unique: understanding the client, reassuring them, advising them, personalizing the experience, following up, and providing support.
At a time when agencies need to re-engage their clients, better defend their value, and improve their productivity, the Amadeus tools presented aboard Club Med 2 address very concrete issues. Not just for show. To help sell better.
Key takeaways for professionals
- Amadeus Discover can help agencies integrate more activities into their sales.
- Activities become a lever for personalization, margin, and perceived value.
- Amadeus Value Hotels addresses a simple need: to further centralize the hotel in the booking process.
- AI should be judged on one clear criterion: does it save the advisor useful time?
- The travel advisor remains central: the tool should enhance their expertise, not replace it.
