Cediv Travel: Balance as a guiding principle for agencies

Date:

On board the Club Med 2, Convenc'Tour 2026 kicked off with a simple yet essential message for travel agencies: they'll have to embrace change. This convention, held between Nice, Ajaccio, and Calvi, opens with a theme perfectly suited to the times: "Finding balance in a world in disequilibrium."

Adriana Minchella's phrase that sets the tone

What strikes me most about this opening is this statement fromAdriana Minchella, president of Cediv Travel: "We mustn't remain stuck in our habits and certainties." It perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this edition. Agencies can no longer operate solely with yesterday's reflexes. Clients are changing, tools are changing, margins are being managed differently, teams need support, and the value of expert advice must be better championed.

On paper, the theme of balance might seem quite broad. But on board, it becomes very concrete. An agency today must find its equilibrium between performance and human connection, digital and local presence, responsibility and profitability, independence and teamwork. This is precisely where Cediv Travel aims to position this convention.

Club Med 2, an obvious metaphor

The choice of Club Med 2 isn't just aesthetic. It already tells a story. A sailboat moves forward with the winds, the movements, the unexpected. It maintains a course, but it constantly adjusts. For a network of independent agencies, the image works very well. In her message to participants, Adriana Minchella even referred to "a sailboat that moves forward while maintaining its balance despite the winds, the movements, and the unexpected...".

This idea speaks directly to tourism professionals. For several years, agencies have been operating in a less stable environment: economic tensions, changing customer behavior, new technologies, price pressures, a need for reassurance, and the rise of responsible tourism practices. The challenge, therefore, is not to find a perfect balance. The challenge is to learn how to keep moving forward without losing sight of the goal.

A network that relies on collective action

The event's official website lists a full roster of 230 participants, including members, partners, speakers, media, and accompanying persons. Beyond the numbers, this gathering conveys an important message: agencies need collective spaces to openly discuss their real-world issues.

As reported by L'Écho touristique after the 2025 edition, the choice of Club Med 2 had already been announced as a highlight for the following convention. Today, on board, this announcement takes on a new dimension: the ship becomes a place for work, networking, and reflection on the future of travel agencies.

This is what I will be following in the coming days for InfosTourisme.com. Not just the conferences, but also the discussions between members, the workshops, the informal moments, and the recurring questions. Because it is often in these spontaneous exchanges, shared concerns, and the best practices that circulate, that we best understand the state of a network.

What this opening changes for professionals

For travel agencies, the message is clear: remaining entrenched in their certainties is becoming risky. They need to re-examine their sales methods, how they present their value proposition, customer follow-up, team training, supplier relationships, and the role of human interaction in the traveler's journey.

The rest of the program should allow for practical application. In Ajaccio, the roundtable on value between partners and distributors will be a key moment. In Calvi, the workshops on People, Performance, Customer, electronic invoicing, VAT, training, legal matters, and ATR (Authorization to Retain) should directly impact the day-to-day operations of agencies.

This Convenc'Tour 2026 therefore begins with a real editorial promise: not just to talk about balance, but to see how agencies can rebuild it in their practices, their teams and their development choices.
