I just boarded the Club Med 2 in Nice to cover the Cediv Travel Convenc'Tour 2026 for InfosTourisme.com. For four days, I will be following this convention from the inside, between Nice, Ajaccio and Calvi, with a very simple idea in mind: to understand what travel agencies can really take away from this edition, which is themed "Finding balance in a world in imbalance".

Summary
A theme that's perfect for agencies
I have to be frank: this topic resonates with everyone in the tourism industry today. Agencies have to deal with more informed clients, margins to protect, teams to support, rapidly evolving tools, partners to engage, and constant pressure on service quality. Balance, therefore, is not just a nice buzzword. It has become a real management issue.
In her message to participants, Adriana Minchella, president of Cediv Travel, set the tone with an image perfectly suited to the chosen venue: "A sailboat moving forward, maintaining its balance despite the winds, the movements, and the unexpected..." Aboard the Club Med 2, the metaphor took on its full meaning. A network of independent agencies is also about this: moving forward together, even when the market is changing.

Nearly 200 professionals are expected for this edition of Convenc'Tour 2026. The event's official website lists a full roster of 230 participants, including members, partners, speakers, media representatives, and accompanying persons. But beyond the numbers, it's the diversity of profiles that interests me most: agencies, tour operators, experts, destinations, technology partners, legal professionals, and stakeholders in training and responsible tourism.
What I will be following during these four days
I didn't come here to simply give a program report. My goal is to capture what can be useful to tourism professionals: concrete ideas, powerful phrases, weak signals, recurring themes in discussions, and solutions that agencies can implement upon their return.
The first day in Nice will set the tone with the opening of the Convenc'Tour, Clément Leroy's conference on "Balance in Motion," followed by discussions on the profession with Marie Poirier, Valérie Boned, and Patrice Caradec. In Ajaccio, I will be particularly interested in Samy Bailly's conference on managing in uncertainty and the roundtable discussion on value creation between partners and distributors. In Calvi, the workshops will be very practical: People, Performance, Customer, e-invoicing, VAT, training, legal matters, and ATR (Annual Technical Review).
These are precisely the issues that matter to an agency today. Not just for reflection, but for decision-making. How to sell better? How to better support clients? How to train teams? How to secure business? How to work with partners without compromising value? How to integrate responsible practices without resorting to empty rhetoric?

The voice of the members will be essential
What I really want to highlight in this report is the voice of those on the ground. Cediv members experience these trade-offs every day: recruitment, customer loyalty, price pressure, evolving expectations, supplier relationships, and the mental burden on managers. That's where the most valuable answers lie.
So I'll be conducting several interviews during the convention, particularly with members, to understand how they experience this theme of work-life balance within their own agencies. Because there's often a huge gap between a major trend and a decision made one Monday morning in an agency. It's this gap that I want to explore.

Why this convention deserves to be followed
The choice of Club Med 2, Corsica, and a sea-based format is not insignificant. It creates a break from the daily grind. We leave behind offices, emergencies, emails, and routines. We find ourselves in an environment that almost compels us to take a step back and gain perspective. For a network like Cediv Travel, it's a way of reminding everyone that collective strength remains a powerful asset when the market becomes more volatile.
Nice, Ajaccio, Calvi: the route also has a real destination dimension. Corsica will not just be a backdrop. It will allow for discussions about experience, hospitality, the territory, responsible tourism, and how agencies can better communicate a destination to their clients.
What I already remember as I board
- The theme of balance perfectly aligns with the current concerns of agencies.
- Club Med 2 gives this edition a clear symbolic strength.
- The workshops in Calvi should be the most useful for agency managers.
- The round table in Ajaccio will be a key moment to discuss value between partners and distributors.
- The voice of the members will be essential to move beyond the institutional discourse.
More to come on InfosTourisme
In the coming days, I will be publishing several pieces of content from Convenc'Tour 2026: analyses, interviews, LinkedIn posts, short videos, and a final summary. InfosTourisme's objective is clear: to transform this convention into a valuable resource for tourism professionals. Not just to recount what happened, but to explain what it can mean for agencies, their teams, their clients, and their partners.
