Accor is reviving a project the market is closely watching: a potential IPO for Ennismore. Behind this operation lies more than just a financial matter. The group primarily seeks to have the value of a platform that has become central to its lifestyle strategy recognized independently. For Accor, the objective is clear: to prove that Ennismore can be seen as a standalone asset, and not simply as a diluted component within the group's consolidated accounts.
The project is not new. In its 2025 annual results, Accor confirmed that its board of directors had approved, on October 23, 2025, the launch of preparatory work to study a potential listing of Ennismore. The group specified at the time that there was no certainty regarding the completion of the transaction, while indicating that it intended to remain the controlling shareholder if the project went ahead.
Summary
Why Ennismore now matters so much to Accor
Founded in 2021, Ennismore now encompasses the core of Accor's lifestyle platform. The group has held a 66.67% stake since the creation of the joint venture with Sharan Pasricha. In 2022, Accor also announced the sale of a further 10.8% stake to a consortium of investors financed by Qatar First Bank, a transaction that valued Ennismore at over €2 billion at the time.
Since then, the scope has continued to expand. According to data published by Ennismore, the platform encompasses 16 brands, more than 200 open hotels, over 160 properties in the pipeline, and more than 500 restaurants and bars. This change in scale largely explains why Accor now wants to better isolate and showcase Ennismore's value.

A potential IPO, but not yet a finalized deal
The key point bears repeating: at this stage, Accor has not announced a confirmed IPO, nor a definitive timeline. The group still refers to it as an operation under consideration. However, according to the specialized and financial press, the matter has entered a more concrete phase, with banks reportedly working on a potential IPO in the United States.
This distinction is crucial. The project is progressing in substance. However, its implementation remains contingent on the market conditions, the achievable valuation, and Ennismore's ability to convince investors of the clarity of its business model.
Accor's real gamble with Ennismore
Accor is not looking to divest itself of Ennismore. On the contrary, the group wants to give it greater financial flexibility, offer more liquidity to minority shareholders, and allow the platform to more easily finance its growth. This is what Accor already explained in its 2025 and 2026 financial communications.
The issue therefore goes far beyond mere stock market techniques. If the deal goes through, the market will have to judge Ennismore's value based on its own fundamentals. And that's where the matter becomes strategic for the entire industry. For several years now, lifestyle has been presented as one of the most dynamic drivers of the global hotel industry. An Ennismore listing would finally provide a real-world test of how investors value this model.
This is a situation that the entire hotel sector needs to follow closely
For tourism professionals, operators, and investors, Accor's Ennismore project could be a landmark. If the market strongly approves of the platform, it would bolster the stock market credibility of lifestyle hotels. If the valuation disappoints, many will have to revise their view of a segment often presented as one of the most desirable in the sector.
In other words, the Ennismore case will not only reveal something about Accor. It could also reveal the true value, in the markets, of the lifestyle promise in the global hotel industry.
