Futuroscope 2026: Four new features to continue a major transformation

Date:

Futuroscope continues its transformation. After five years of redevelopment and nearly €300 million invested, the Poitou-Charentes theme park is entering a new phase of development. For the 2026 season, four new attractions will enhance its offerings, ahead of the 40th anniversary celebrations. This strategy confirms the site's ambition: to establish itself as a leading tourist destination.

A deliberate and now consolidated strategic gamble

According to the specialized press, the "Vision 2025" plan launched by Futuroscope has profoundly transformed the park's model. Despite an uncertain health and economic climate, management has maintained a five-year investment program of 300 million euros.

This strategy has resulted in a significant increase in visitor numbers, from 1.9 million visitors in 2019 to 2.6 million in 2025. Revenue now reaches 160 million euros, up 27% compared to the previous year.

“It was a risky gamble,” admits Rodolphe Bouin, Chairman of the Board of Futuroscope. “Over these five years, we have added thrills, interactive attractions, and live shows. And we have succeeded in transforming Futuroscope’s business model.” Among the flagship achievements are the immersive hotels Station Cosmos and Ecolodgee, the Mission Bermudes attraction, and the opening of the Aquascope.

Season 2026: Four new features to enrich the experience

While the Vision 2025 plan is coming to an end, Futuroscope has no intention of slowing down. The year 2026 will serve as a transition phase before the launch of the Vision 2030 plan and the 40th anniversary celebrations. Four new attractions will be added to the existing offerings.

  1. The Greenhouse of Worlds : an immersive experience installed in the 360° Pavilion, designed in collaboration with Moment Factory. It offers an exploration of four interactive plant worlds combining scenography, light and digital technologies.
  2. T-Rex at the Omnimax : the complete reopening of the Omnimax pavilion with a spectacular new film dedicated to the famous dinosaur.
  3. Campus Numeria : an educational space dedicated to school audiences, focused on the uses and professions of digital technology.
  4. Pulse, the electric odyssey : a fun and educational experience about the energies of tomorrow, combining design, science and interactivity.

“With these new features, and after having largely transformed the destination, we wanted to reconnect with Futuroscope’s historical roots. It’s also a way to revitalize Futuroscope’s historical heritage, with the renovation of three iconic pavilions,” explains Rodolphe Bouin. These new features, described as “capacity-enhancing,” also aim to better distribute visitor flow and improve traffic flow in the busiest areas.

The Aquascope, a driver of visitor numbers

Opened as part of the Vision 2025 plan, Aquascope has established itself as a cornerstone of the destination. In 2025, this water park welcomed 572,000 visitors, exceeding the initial forecast of 450,000 entries for its first full year of operation.

More than 60% of visitors now combine a visit to Futuroscope and Aquascope. This synergy increases the average length of stay and supports the site's economic activity.

What tourism professionals can take away from this

The case of Futuroscope illustrates the ability of a leisure site to evolve into an integrated destination model. The increase in the length of stay is significant: 20% of visitors now spend two nights on site, compared to 6% before 2020. This development opens up new opportunities for agencies, tour operators, and local stakeholders.

Perspectives: Focusing on Vision 2030 and the 40th anniversary

The next strategic cycle, called Vision 2030, notably includes the creation of a new immersive hotel and suspended roller coasters. In parallel, the park is preparing to celebrate its 40th anniversary with an enhanced events program, including nighttime shows and special entertainment.
