Iberia announces a particularly ambitious summer schedule between Europe and Latin America. The airline plans to offer 3,354,159 seats for the season, a 7.6% increase compared to the previous year, with up to 366 weekly flights operating in this strategic region.

According to the specialized press and official company communications, Iberia will offer 3,354,159 seats between Europe and Latin America during the summer season, representing a 7.6% year-on-year increase. The schedule includes up to 366 weekly flights, a record number for the summer season in this region.

This development is part of the " Flight Plan 2030 ", a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening Madrid's position as a European hub to Latin America.

Buenos Aires: the leading long-haul destination in terms of flight frequencies

Between June and August, Iberia plans to increase its flights to Buenos Aires to 23 weekly, compared to 21 currently. The Argentine capital will thus become the airline's first long-haul destination to exceed three daily flights.

In total, 456,000 seats will be offered on this route, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year.

Mexico: Monterrey opening

Starting June 2, 2026, Iberia will launch a direct Madrid–Monterrey route with three weekly flights. The airline has announced 36,288 seats for this new route during the summer season.

The route will be operated with a 288-seat Airbus A330-200. Combining Monterrey and Mexico City, Iberia expects to exceed 800,000 seats between Mexico and Europe by 2026.

Brazil, the Caribbean and Chile: increased capacity

In Brazil, the addition of Recife and Fortaleza, combined with a strengthening towards Rio de Janeiro, will allow reaching nearly 400,000 seats, representing a 15% increase over one year.

In the Dominican Republic, flight frequencies will increase from 7-8 weekly flights to 10-11 during the summer. Puerto Rico will also benefit from increased service, with 10-12 weekly frequencies announced.

Santiago, Chile will reach nearly 240,000 seats between Madrid and the Chilean capital, up 7% year-on-year.
