MSC World Asia is partnering with Venchi to deliver one of the most gourmet experiences on cruises

Date:

MSC World Asia is adding a highly visible selling point just months before its arrival in the Mediterranean. MSC Cruises has announced that its future ship will feature the largest Venchi experience ever deployed at sea, with a 300-square-meter space dedicated to artisanal chocolate, coffee, and gelato. For the cruise market, this announcement goes far beyond mere indulgence. It confirms that differentiation increasingly lies in onboard experiences, according to the press release.

The concept will be located in the Galleria on deck 6 and will combine a boutique, café, and gelateria in a single space. MSC specifies that this will be the first Venchi outlet on a World Class ship and the largest in its entire fleet. The space will offer more than 60 seats, with a program designed to run from morning to night.

MSC World Asia transforms chocolate into a complete experience

The heart of the experience will be a live chocolate-making demonstration. Passengers will be able to watch Venchi experts at work and then create their own chocolate bars or slabs using premium ingredients, including Piedmont hazelnuts and the brand's signature caviar chocolate. MSC is also highlighting digital tools that allow passengers to personalize the design of their creations.

The offerings won't stop at takeaway chocolate. MSC World Asia will also offer artisanal Italian gelato, caffeinated drinks, croissants, crepes, and, in the evenings, chocolate-infused cocktails. The space has therefore been designed as a place for consumption and entertainment, not just a simple snack corner.

MSC World Asia is banking on a premium gourmet experience to enhance its appeal in the Mediterranean.

An exclusive flavor to launch the partnership

To mark this collaboration, MSC Cruises and Venchi will launch a limited-edition gelato flavor called “Crunchy Waves”. The recipe combines a Bourbon vanilla base, crunchy pieces of hazelnut biscuit and salted toffee, with a blue spirulina layer inspired by the Mediterranean.

This flavor will be available from August 1st to 31st in select Venchi boutiques worldwide, and then on board MSC Seaside-class ships equipped with Venchi gelaterias. It will also be available on MSC World Asia starting in December 2026. The strategy is clever: it creates a bridge between land-based retail and the cruise experience.

A strategic launch for MSC's new flagship

MSC World Asia is scheduled to enter service on December 4, 2026. The ship will sail in the Mediterranean with several embarkation ports, including Barcelona, Marseille, and Genoa. MSC also indicates that the ship will offer more than 40 bars, lounges, cafés, and restaurants, with several concepts developed in partnership with renowned culinary brands.

The message sent to the market is clear. MSC World Asia will not only be sold based on its itinerary, but also on the richness of life on board. In a sector where ships are increasingly offering signature experiences, this Venchi partnership gives MSC a premium angle that is highly recognizable and easily marketable.

What this announcement changes for tourism professionals

For distributors, this announcement underscores a fundamental shift. Selling a cruise is no longer solely about price, cabin, or ports of call. It also hinges on the ability to tell the story of the unique moments of the voyage. With MSC World Asia, MSC Cruises adds a differentiating element that can enrich sales messaging, social media content, SEO, and product pages.

The partnership with Venchi also brings an immediately recognizable premium Italian aesthetic. It is precisely this type of onboard experience, visible and memorable, that can tip the scales in a comparison between several ships positioned in the same area.
