Oceania Cruises® is banking on five Caribbean cruises that could be a hit by the end of 2026

Date:

Oceania Cruises® puts the Caribbean back at the center of its programming with five departures from Miami, offered between November and December 2026. The company is focusing less on the accumulation of stops than on a well-defined three-part formula: ships of controlled size, culinary experiences and excursions in small groups.

In a press release published on July 15, 2026, Oceania Cruises® details several itineraries of 7 to 14 days aboard Oceania Vista®, Oceania Allura™ and Oceania Marina™. All are marketed in an environment presented by the company as reserved for adults.

A commercial highlight, not necessarily five new products

The distinction is important. Oceania Cruises® does not specify that these five cruises are newly created. The press release highlights departures already listed on its website, with their dates, ships, and ports of call.

It is therefore more accurate to speak of a new campaign to promote the Caribbean season than the launch of five entirely new itineraries. According to the specialized press, Cruise Industry News also presented this announcement as a preview of the late 2026 program.

The company relies on its two newest ships, Oceania Vista® and Oceania Allura™, as well as Oceania Marina™. The latter underwent a major refurbishment in May 2024, including new dining options, redesigned Penthouse suites, and several modernized public spaces.

Oceania Cruises® is focusing on a new generation of premium cruises in the Caribbean, combining secluded ports of call, fine dining and immersive experiences.

Five Oceania Cruises® cruises departing from Miami

Dutchman's Caribbean, 14 days on Oceania Vista®

The first departure listed will leave Miami on November 11, 2026, and return there on November 25. The itinerary includes stops in George Town, Falmouth, Oranjestad, Willemstad, Saint-Georges, Bridgetown, Castries, and Basseterre.

This cruise combines the western and southern Caribbean, with a focus on local markets, volcanic landscapes, and culinary traditions. Rum tastings and exploring Willemstad are key highlights of the experience.

Caribbean Island Bliss, 10 days on Oceania Allura™

Oceania Allura™ will depart from Miami on December 2, 2026 for a 10-day loop. The itinerary includes Charlotte Amalie, Gustavia, Philipsburg, Frederiksted, and Tortola.

During the stopover in Charlotte Amalie, the airline highlights an excursion to Trunk Bay, located on the island of Saint John. In Saint Martin, travelers can discover the concept of "lolos," open-air restaurants serving local cuisine.

Collector's Caribbean, 12 days on Oceania Marina™

The December 10, 2026 departure is aimed more directly at travelers with a passion for gastronomy. The cruise will stop in Charlotte Amalie, Gustavia, Saint John's, Fort-de-France, Basseterre, Philipsburg, and Tortola before returning to Miami on December 22.

In Antigua, Oceania Cruises® is advertising a culinary excursion during which participants prepare a three-course menu. The local team is described by the company as having been trained by British chef Colin McGurran.

Tropical Retreats, 7 days on Oceania Allura™

This Christmas cruise will leave Miami on December 21, 2026. It will serve Costa Maya, Roatán, Harvest Caye and Cozumel, with a stop in Belize scheduled for December 25.

In Cozumel, the company offers an experience combining tequila, mezcal, and tacos. At just seven days, this itinerary is the shortest in the selection and can be more easily integrated into a land-based stay in Florida.

Caribbean Celebration, 14 days on Oceania Marina™

The final leg of the journey will start on December 22, 2026 and end on January 5, 2027. It therefore does not take place entirely in 2026, contrary to what a quick reading of the press release might suggest.

Oceania Marina™ will call at George Town, Montego Bay, Oranjestad, Willemstad, Kralendijk, Fort-de-France, Basseterre, and Philipsburg. The ship will be in Martinique on December 31. An excursion focusing on the history of the 1902 eruption of Mount Pelée and boucanage, a traditional method of cooking and smoking meat, is among the planned activities.

Gastronomy becomes the true common thread

The difference Oceania Cruises® seeks is not solely based on the choice of ports. The company extends its culinary focus both ashore and on board, with visits to producers, discoveries of local products, and excursions led by chefs.

The press release mentions in particular a visit related to beekeeping in Saint Lucia, the discovery of banana varieties and their economic importance in Martinique, a tasting of cheeses and wines in Willemstad, as well as a visit to an organic farm followed by lunch in Tortola.

On board, select evenings at the Terrace Café will feature Chef's Market Dinners. The Culinary Center will also offer hands-on classes inspired by the ingredients and traditions encountered during the voyage. LYNC digital workshops will focus on photographing Caribbean landscapes.

For travel agencies, the commercial benefit is clear: gastronomy offers a more targeted sales angle than a simple promise of sunshine. It also allows them to differentiate their products for clients who have already visited the main islands in the region.

"Boutique ports" to be viewed with caution

Oceania Cruises® refers to Basseterre, Philipsburg, and Pointe-à-Pitre as more secluded or "boutique" ports. This designation is part of the company's marketing vocabulary. Basseterre and Philipsburg regularly welcome cruise ships and cannot be systematically presented as secluded ports of call.

Another geographical clarification: the English press release links the Sainte-Anne craft village to Pointe-à-Pitre. The official website of the Guadeloupe Islands clearly places this area within the municipality of Sainte-Anne. Therefore, it is a visit accessible from the port of Pointe-à-Pitre, and not a site located within the port city itself.

A clear offer for travel agencies

The program caters to several customer profiles. The seven-day trip may be suitable for a more compact end-of-year stay, while the 12 and 14-day cruises are more geared towards travelers willing to dedicate a larger budget and time to the destination.

Departing from and returning to Miami also makes it easier to create a package with one or more nights before boarding. For French travel agents, the added value will then lie in the airfare, transfers, US entry formalities, and the selection of excursions.

The adult-oriented environment, the dining options, the size of the ships, and the small-group experiences are the main selling points. However, the concept of authenticity must be explained concretely to the customer, excursion by excursion, rather than simply being presented as a marketing promise.

Oceania Cruises® seeks to revitalize an already well-known destination

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises®, presents the company's strategy as follows:

“Our Caribbean cruises highlight the region’s remarkable diversity and richness, from its world-famous islands to more unusual discoveries. In addition, our range of enriching shore experiences offers even the most seasoned travelers a fresh perspective on destinations they may have visited many times before.”

The message is clear: Oceania Cruises® isn't trying to make people believe the Caribbean is a new destination. Rather, the company is trying to convince travelers already familiar with the region to return by offering a more cultural and gastronomic experience at its ports of call.

For tourism professionals, this is probably the most interesting aspect of this announcement. The product isn't just sold by its route, but by how each day on land can be narrated, personalized, and integrated into a cohesive premium experience.
