Qantas is offering an exclusive familiarization trip to Australia: get your sales in!

Date:

Qantas and Tourism Australia are partnering to offer travel agents a premium adventure in Western Australia and Victoria, from May 9 to 20, 2026. The itinerary includes over 3,000 kilometers of experiences, from Perth to Melbourne, showcasing a spectacular side of Australia. To secure a spot, a sales incentive program is being launched in the French market.

A Qantas challenge for top salespeople in France

The competition is open to Aussie Specialist certified travel agents who have completed the "Melbourne" and "Perth" modules on the Qantas Learning Hub. The aim is to reward top-performing professionals in Australian sales. Eight winners will be selected to participate in this exceptional familiarization trip.

According to L'Écho touristique, the selection process will take place in two stages: Qantas will first establish a shortlist based on sales figures supported by PNRs or ticket numbers provided; then Tourism Australia will verify the training criteria. The results are expected in early March 2026.

Conditions for participation

Between September 1, 2025 and March 1, 2026, each agent must make at least one Australia sale excluding standalone tickets including a Qantas flight (QF33 or QF34 from Paris; or QF1; QF2; QF9; QF10 from London under code QF); at least one night in Western Australia; and at least one night in Victoria.

Once this first sale has been made, the agent must register via the official form provided by Qantas; then send the PNR or ticket number to sandra.gotal@qantas.com.au before March 2, 2026. Qantas will then proceed with the pre-selection; before final validation by Tourism Australia.

A signature 3,000 km familiarization trip

The eight selected agents will embark on a journey from Perth to Melbourne, covering more than 3,000 kilometers through two iconic regions. Thanks to the direct Paris-Perth flight operated by Qantas, participants will discover a diverse range of landscapes and experiences: rugged coastlines, vineyards, protected nature reserves, urban scenes, and local cuisine. The familiarization trip is designed to enhance awareness of Australia as a travel destination and support the sale of premium holidays to French clients.

Why Qantas is investing in familiarization trips

With this challenge, Qantas is continuing its strategy of training and engaging distributors. The airline is increasing its outreach to agencies to support Australia as a destination and strengthen relationships with partners. According to the trade press, familiarization trips remain a recognized tool for developing long-haul sales, particularly in markets where the product requires extensive advice.

By focusing on education and field experience, Qantas shows that it is not limited to offering seats; but that it seeks to support the skills development of sales teams across the entire destination.
