The cruise industry is rapidly evolving towards a model where entertainment is a major selling point. It is with this in mind that Royal Caribbean has just announced a brand-new show: America's Got Talent LIVE . Starting in August 2026, passengers on the Legend of the Seas will be able to enjoy a live stage adaptation of the famous international television program at sea.
This initiative marks a first for the cruise industry: the Got Talent has never before been adapted into a live show on a ship. According to the specialized press, cruise lines are increasingly seeking to integrate strong cultural licenses to enrich the onboard experience and enhance the appeal of their ships.
Summary
A television phenomenon adapted for the first time at sea
Royal Caribbean officially announced this new show on March 11, 2026. Starting in the summer of 2026, passengers of the Legend of the Seas will be able to discover America's Got Talent LIVE , an adaptation of the famous variety show produced especially for the ship.
The show will bring together a selection of artists from the Got Talent universe: magicians, musicians, acrobats, aerial artists, and other international performers. The performances will be presented in the ship's Royal Theater in a format designed for a family audience.

“At Royal Caribbean, we are constantly striving to surprise our guests with ever more spectacular entertainment experiences, whether it’s performances on stage, in the air, on the water, or even on ice,” explains Christine Coachman , Vice President of Entertainment at Royal Caribbean. “With America’s Got Talent LIVE on Legend of the Seas, we are bringing one of the world’s most iconic entertainment formats to life in a brand-new show at sea, designed to amaze families and provide an unforgettable onboard experience.”
The owners of the television format are equally enthusiastic. “We are thrilled to see Got Talent set sail for the very first time aboard a Royal Caribbean ship,” says Erica Gadecki , Executive Vice President of Partnership Solutions at Fremantle . “On this new stage, artists from around the world will deliver exceptional performances, offering passengers a unique show inspired by the world of Got Talent.”
An ever more ambitious entertainment strategy
The show is part of a particularly ambitious entertainment program for the Legend of the Seas . The ship will also offer aquatic shows at the AquaTheater, ice shows in the Absolute Zero ice rink, as well as numerous nighttime experiences in more than twenty bars, lounges, and music venues.
According to the specialized press, cruise lines are investing heavily in onboard experiences to transform their ships into veritable entertainment destinations. This trend aims to attract a wider audience and strengthen the differentiation between the various companies.
For Royal Caribbean, acquiring a global license like Got Talent is also a powerful marketing tool. The television format is broadcast in dozens of countries and enjoys strong international recognition.
A ship designed as a destination
The Legend of the Seas will also offer a particularly attractive cruise package. Initially, the ship will operate seven-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean departing from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia).
The itineraries will include iconic ports of call such as Marseille, Naples, and Palma de Mallorca. From November 2026, the ship will then sail to the Caribbean for six- and eight-night cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Each itinerary will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private destination in the Bahamas, as well as stops in several popular Caribbean destinations such as Aruba or Curaçao.
This development is changing the way cruises are sold
In my view, this announcement perfectly illustrates the evolution of the sector. Cruising is no longer simply sold as a way to travel between different destinations. It is becoming a comprehensive experience combining entertainment, gastronomy, and immersive activities.
For travel agencies, this type of initiative is a particularly effective marketing tool. Combining a cruise with a show inspired by a global cultural phenomenon creates a simple and immediately understandable narrative for customers.
In an increasingly competitive cruise market, this type of differentiation can clearly influence the purchasing decision.
