Sabre integrates 100,000 Chinese hotels into its global marketplace

Date:

Sabre is strengthening its hotel offering in Asia with a new strategic partnership in China. The American travel technology solutions provider has announced the integration of over 100,000 Chinese hotels into its SabreMosaic Travel Marketplace. This development aims to facilitate access for international travel agencies to domestic Chinese hotel content.

A structuring partnership with a local Chinese player

According to the trade press, Sabre has signed an agreement with Shanghai Fuxun Information Technology Co. Ltd., a specialist in hotel distribution in China. This partnership will enrich the SabreMosaic marketplace with a wide range of local hotels, including major Chinese chains, international brands present in the country, and numerous independent establishments.

The integration of this content responds to a demand expressed by travel agencies using Sabre solutions, who have so far faced difficulties accessing the Chinese domestic hotel market via international distribution systems.

Expanded access to the Chinese hotel market for agencies

With this integration, travel agencies can now view and book an expanded selection of Chinese hotels directly from their Sabre environment. The stated objective is to simplify booking processes and improve the visibility of Chinese establishments in international markets.

For Sabre, this operation is part of a broader strategy to develop high value-added local content, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, considered one of the most dynamic tourism markets in the world.

Another building block in the SabreMosaic strategy

The SabreMosaic Travel Marketplace aims to centralize air, hotel, and ground travel content from multiple providers, offering travel professionals a unified offering. The addition of Chinese hotel content complements this approach, strengthening interoperability between local players and international distribution networks.

This development illustrates Sabre's desire to position its marketplace as a global access point to travel inventories, by integrating markets that have historically been complex to connect.

A commercial challenge for B2B distribution

For tourism professionals, the opening of Chinese hotel content via Sabre represents a business development opportunity, particularly for agencies working on business and leisure travel to China. Access to a more comprehensive offering allows them to broaden their client proposals and reduce their reliance on local intermediaries.

For Chinese hoteliers, this increased international visibility represents a potential lever to capture foreign customers through traditional B2B channels.
