Spotnana launches its multi-agent AI: what will really change for travel agencies

Date:

On July 20, 2026, Spotnana unveiled a multi-agent artificial intelligence architecture integrated into its travel platform. Initial features include post-booking case processing, importing external bookings, assisting travel advisors, and analyzing servicing operations.

The announcement does not mean that all of a travel agency's tasks can now be automated. However, it does confirm the deployment of several tools capable of performing specific operations using Spotnana's APIs and structured data.

Spotnana distributes operations among several specialized agents

Spotnana's new architecture does not rely on a single generalist assistant. It uses several specialized agents, each responsible for a specific task.

According to the documentation published by the company, each agent is connected to specific APIs of the platform. A central orchestration agent analyzes the request, distributes the actions among the different sub-agents and defines their execution order.

Spotnana also specifies that user confirmation is still required when an action involves a financial transaction.

The company presents this structure as a way to regulate the actions of artificial intelligence. Spotnana states, in particular, that its agents cannot invent a refund amount, a pricing rule, or a travel policy, because they must use the data and processes already integrated into the platform.

This is currently a technical description provided by Spotnana. No independent audit or publicly available reliability rating accompanies the announcement.

Two AI agents are dedicated to processing the files

Spotnana announces the launch of two agents dedicated to servicing operations.

The first monitors operational task queues and processes certain files considered repetitive. Its initial functions include managing segments cancelled after a flight schedule change, validating unissued segments, issuing certain residual MCOs, and automating eligible refunds.

The term MCO refers to an accounting document used in certain airline operations. Spotnana indicates that the relevant residual credits can be added to the traveler's profile for later use.

When a case requires a human decision, the platform plans to transfer it to an advisor with the history of actions already performed by the automated agent.

The second agent concerns bookings made outside of Spotnana. When a user sends a confirmation via email, the tool can import the trip into the platform to integrate it into the itinerary and tracking data.

An AI copilot to assist advisors

Spotnana is also deploying a co-pilot for travel agents. Its role is to assist advisors during the processing of requests, without handling the entire file alone.

The tool can suggest answers during a messaging conversation and generate summaries from a traveler's history, exchanges, or call transcripts.

Spotnana claims that these features can reduce average processing time. However, the company does not publish any figures to measure time savings, error reductions, or the impact on operational costs.

AI-enhanced servicing reports

The platform also adds analytical functions for travel managers.

Reports can now display data on the tasks assigned to agents, their type, priority, content source, and average processing time. Spotnana also announced AI-generated insights into trends identified in certain reporting modules.

These functions should, in particular, allow users to track the proportion of automated transactions. The announcement does not specify whether all indicators are available to all clients, all markets, and all platform configurations.

An architecture that partners can connect to their own tools

Spotnana presents its architecture as open. Its customers and partners can develop their own agents or connect Spotnana's artificial intelligence functions to other systems, including internal tools.

This capability aligns with the company's historical positioning, whose platform is based on documented APIs. Its developer portal covers, in particular, reservation management, exchanges and cancellations, traveler profiles, policies, payments, reporting, and tasks for agents.

The availability of APIs does not mean that an agency can immediately build and deploy an agent without integration work. The complexity, timelines, costs, and contractual terms are not detailed in the announcement.

Direct Travel already uses some of Spotnana's features

Direct Travel is cited by Spotnana as a user of these capabilities. Sarah Kuberry Martino, the company's Chief Product Officer, states:

“Spotnana’s modern travel infrastructure forms the foundation for a new generation of AI-powered travel experiences.

Direct Travel leverages these capabilities to automate routine management tasks, while allowing its travel advisors to focus on complex situations, strategic advice, and personalized service that delivers the most value to its international clients.”

This quote confirms the use announced by Direct Travel, but it provides neither volume of files processed, nor automation rate, nor measured result on advisor productivity.

Spotnana promises more features in the coming months

According to the specialized press, Travolution indicates that Spotnana plans to launch other artificial intelligence tools during the year 2026.

Spotnana specifically mentions new capabilities aimed at travelers, travel managers, and travel agents. The company has not yet released a detailed timeline, a complete list of future features, or pricing information.

Ashish Chaudhary, Executive Vice President of Engineering at Spotnana, explains:

“For years, we have been working to automate all service management processes, regardless of the content source, to empower travelers to do more independently. Our AI architecture builds on these foundations to go even further, paving the way for a new generation of traveler experiences.”

Spotnana automates specific tasks, not the job of an advisor

The published information confirms the automation of several targeted operations. However, it does not allow us to conclude that Spotnana replaces travel advisors or eliminates all repetitive tasks.

The announced functions primarily concern standardized cases, such as certain refunds, canceled segments, pre-issuance checks, or imports of external bookings. Situations requiring assessment, negotiation, or personalized support will still be handled by a human agent according to the procedure described by Spotnana.

The real interest for agencies and TMCs will therefore depend on several factors not yet publicly documented: the rate of actually eligible files, the quality of available data, the connections with the different content sources and the level of supervision required.

An important announcement, but with few figures yet to be released

Spotnana has taken a significant step forward by integrating agents capable of intervening in its booking and servicing processes. The announcement goes beyond a simple chatbot, as the tools presented can trigger operations via the platform's APIs.

However, it remains impossible to measure their actual effectiveness based solely on the available information. Spotnana publishes no success rates, no comparisons with manual processing, and no quantified feedback from client agencies.

For travel professionals, the subject will therefore need to be monitored on the ground: scope of automatable tasks, security of operations, human control, integration with existing tools and results obtained after deployment.
