Sun Siyam Iru Fushi announces the first phase of the design transformation of its resort located in the Noonu Atoll, Maldives. A member of the Sun Siyam Luxury Collection, the property unveils a new generation of overwater villas, marking a key step in the resort's aesthetic and experiential evolution.
Summary
First phase of a gradual transformation
This first phase concerns the Water Villas and Horizon Water Villas with private pools, which have been completely redesigned as part of a comprehensive renovation project. According to the Sun Siyam Group, this transformation aims to evolve the experience offered around contemporary island luxury, integrating design, natural materials, and Maldivian craftsmanship.

The overwater villas offer an open-plan layout, a bathroom with a bathtub opening onto the lagoon, as well as private terraces furnished with different relaxation areas, suspended hammocks and intimate nooks in soft green tones.
Redesigned Water Villas and Horizon Water Villas
All Horizon Water Villas now feature a private 22 m² pool and a built-in lounge. These amenities have been designed to offer a space conducive to relaxation throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset. Personalized touches are also provided for couples and honeymooners.

The overwater villa offering comprises 40 Water Villas with a 123 m² pool, 16 Horizon Water Villas with a 128 m² pool, and 19 Sunset Horizon Water Villas with a 128 m² pool. Each category emphasizes privacy, comfort, and openness to the natural surroundings.
A design project entrusted to Studio Sixty7
The transformation was entrusted to Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero, founders and artistic directors of the London-based Studio Sixty7. Their approach is based on an aesthetic that blends muted tones, natural textures and sculpted shapes, reflecting a vision of "barefoot luxury" dear to the brand.
“Each element has been chosen to anchor the spaces in a sensory experience, inviting guests to a profound sense of calm,” explain Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero.
“This transformation goes far beyond aesthetics: it’s a meticulous orchestration of space, service excellence, and emotion,” emphasizes Abdulla Atham, Resort Manager. “From villa layouts and in-room experiences to minibar selection, outdoor spaces, views, and the discreet attention of your butler, every moment is designed to immerse guests in the art of chic island living.”
A resort with 221 villas in the heart of the Noonu atoll
Located on a 21-hectare island, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi offers 221 beachfront or overwater villas, many with private pools. Dining options include 15 bars and restaurants, complemented by a multilingual butler service.

The resort also caters to families, with two children able to stay and dine free when sharing a villa with two adults. An adults-only area, a dedicated pool, and a Thalgo spa offering over 165 treatments complete the offering. Water activities include an SSI-certified dive center and guided snorkeling sessions at Nemo Reef.
