Travel insurance: Supertripper shakes up the market with radical integration

Date:

has just launched Supertripper in travel insurance isn't simply a new product. It's a business model shift. With Supercare and Superflex, integrated directly into the booking process, the French TMC is transforming what is often a peripheral aspect into a central element of the travel experience.

And for business travel professionals, particularly TMCs and corporate agencies, the impact could be much greater than it seems.

Travel insurance: why Supertripper is changing the rules

According to the specialized press, Supertripper officially announced the launch of two travel insurance policies on April 28, 2026: Supercare and Superflex. Their distinguishing feature is simple, yet crucial: they are directly integrated into the booking tool.

In practical terms, this means there is no longer a separate subscription, no external contract, and no additional administrative procedure. The insurance is automatically activated as soon as transport or accommodation is confirmed.

This approach directly addresses companies' obligations regarding the protection of employees traveling for work, as defined by the Labor Code. In other words, the duty of care is no longer optional, but an integrated process.

In an international context marked by increasing geopolitical, health and logistical risks, this development comes at the right time.

An integration approach that changes everything

Historically, business travel insurance has been treated separately. It involves procedures distinct from the booking process, with manual validations and activation delays.

With Supertripper, this logic disappears. Insurance becomes invisible in the user journey, but systematic in the coverage.

The travel manager can configure the subscription in three modes: authorized, mandatory, or conditional on certain geographical areas. Everything is managed from a centralized dashboard, allowing real-time tracking of travelers, destinations, and covered periods.

This approach makes it possible to move from case-by-case management to a comprehensive policy, aligned with the recommendations of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Superflex and Supercare: two very distinct levels of coverage

Supertripper structures its offering around two complementary products.

Superflex caters to basic needs, particularly domestic travel. It covers cancellations without justification as well as baggage-related incidents (loss, theft, or delay). It also provides compensation for expenses incurred by the traveler, including on non-refundable tickets.

Supercare takes a more comprehensive approach. This multi-risk policy includes the coverages of Superflex and adds several additional protections:

Medical expenses abroad up to 150,000 euros, 24-hour medical repatriation, personal liability up to 1 million euros, as well as coverage for missed flights, flight delays, interruptions of stay and early returns.

The two offers cannot be combined. Subscribing to Supercare automatically includes the Superflex guarantees.

A strategic repositioning for travel management

Behind these travel insurances, there is a broader issue: the transformation of the role of TMCs.

With this type of integration, insurance is no longer an add-on product. It becomes a native component of the platform. And that changes the customer's perception of value.

Companies no longer expect just an efficient booking system. They want a complete solution, capable of managing mobility, security, and compliance.

summarizes Maxime Pialat: "Business travel today takes place in an increasingly unstable international environment."

He added: "By integrating Supercare and Superflex into the platform, we are enabling our customers to move from trip-by-trip managed coverage to coverage defined once in their travel policy.".

What this changes in practical terms for professionals

For agencies and TMCs, the message is clear: integration is becoming the new norm.

A model where insurance is outsourced, optional and manual risks quickly becoming less competitive in the face of integrated and automated solutions.

Beyond the product itself, it's the overall experience that's at stake. Simplicity, speed, traceability: these are now the key criteria for businesses.

In this context, players capable of offering a seamless and comprehensive service gain a significant advantage.

In short

  • Supertripper launches two integrated travel insurance policies: Supercare and Superflex
  • Insurance is automatically activated upon booking
  • The model eliminates external steps and activation delays
  • Superflex covers basic needs, while Supercare offers comprehensive multi-risk coverage
