The Dolli at Acropolis awarded four stars by the Forbes Travel Guide

Date:

The Dolli at Acropolis hotel officially joins the ranks of four-star establishments in the Forbes Travel Guide at the 2026 Star Awards. This international recognition reinforces Athens' premium positioning in the experiential luxury segment and sends a strong signal to tourism professionals working in Greece.

A distinction confirmed at the Star Awards 2026

On February 11, the Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) unveiled the 68th annual edition of its Star Awards, covering approximately 100 countries. The Dolli at Acropolis was among the hotels awarded a four-star distinction and is now featured on ForbesTravelGuide.com.

Amanda Frasier, President of Standards and Ratings at Forbes Travel Guide, says: "The winners of the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards reflect excellence in hospitality."

What the Forbes Travel Guide ranking really represents

The Forbes Travel Guide is presented as the only independent global rating system dedicated to luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, and cruise ships. The ratings are based on anonymous inspections and detailed service standards. For an independent European establishment, achieving four stars provides an immediate boost to credibility with international clientele, particularly North American and Middle Eastern guests, who, according to the trade press, pay close attention to FTG ratings.

A boutique hotel rooted in Athenian heritage

Housed in a neoclassical building dating from 1925, in the heart of Athens' historic center, The Dolli at Acropolis opened in 2023 after seven years of renovation. The hotel features 46 rooms and suites, as well as apartments, all with direct views of the Acropolis.

Mari Daskalantonaki, owner and creator of the hotel, stated in the press release: “We are deeply honored to receive the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Award; it is a distinction that reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and the preservation of the soul and timeless beauty of this iconic place.”

The hotel also showcases an art collection including original works by Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Lucio Fontana, Les Lalanne and Philippe Hiquily, as well as Greek and Egyptian antiquities and contemporary creations.

A strategic product for high-end agencies

For travel designers, luxury agencies, and concierge services, the Forbes Travel Guide endorsement simplifies the recommendation process. It provides an internationally recognized benchmark and strengthens the sales pitch for a premium city break in Athens, particularly thanks to its rooftop with infinity pool and panoramic views of the Acropolis.

In a context of the upgrading of the Greek destination, this distinction repositions The Dolli at Acropolis as a signature product in the premium FIT segment and combined Mediterranean itineraries.
