Travelsoft acquires Afidium: why this operation could impact agency tools

Date:

Travelsoft continues its consolidation in travel technology. The group announces the acquisition of Afidium by Orchestra, its French subsidiary. The transaction brings together a tourism distribution platform and a software publisher specializing in automation, multi-source bookings, and airline booking management.

The acquisition was officially announced on July 30, 2026. Its amount, financial terms and the distribution of capital after the transaction have not been disclosed.

The two companies announce a future joint roadmap, but no precise schedule for the deployment of new features has yet been published.

Travelsoft adds new expertise to Orchestra

Orchestra provides tourism professionals with a platform dedicated to the production, booking, and distribution of travel. Afidium, for its part, develops B2B software used primarily by tour operators and agencies.

Founded in 2005 by David Faveur and Patrick Rajaud, Afidium operates across several operational stages of the travel process. Its solutions cover airfare optimization, PNR control, quote creation, multi-source booking, customer communication, and inventory management.

A PNR is a booking record containing the information necessary to process a trip. Its verification allows for checking the consistency of the data, the issuance deadlines, and certain information required before departure.

Travelsoft strengthens its technology ecosystem with the acquisition of Afidium in order to accelerate innovation for tourism professionals.

What Travelsoft is announcing for customers

Travelsoft explains that Orchestra's customers should gradually gain access to additional tools dedicated to flight optimization and process automation.

Afidium users, for their part, should benefit from the group's technical resources and broader integration with its ecosystem.

At this stage, these are objectives announced by the acquiring company. Travelsoft does not specify which solutions will be integrated first, whether they will be subject to new pricing, or whether all customers will have access to them.

It would therefore be premature to claim that the operation will immediately lead to a reduction in manual tasks, an improvement in margins or complete interoperability between platforms.

Afidium retains its leaders and its organization

David Faveur and Patrick Rajaud will continue to lead Afidium. Travelsoft also indicates that the company will maintain its organization and that its teams will remain committed to serving existing clients.

This continuity limits the risk of an immediate disruption in the publisher's management. However, it does not allow us to determine how teams, contracts, brands, or technical infrastructures will evolve in the longer term.

Christian Sabbagh, founder and CEO of Travelsoft, states:

“Afidium fits naturally into the Orchestra and Travelsoft ecosystem. This partnership will accelerate our innovation capacity and allow us to offer increasingly comprehensive solutions to our clients.”

David Faveur and Patrick Rajaud add:

“Joining Travelsoft allows us to accelerate the development of our solutions while maintaining the quality, expertise, and responsiveness that have earned us our reputation with our clients.”

Afidium's tools complement the Orchestra platform

Afidium markets several specialized modules. FareOpt and FareOpt+ are dedicated to optimizing airfares. Fare Sentinel monitors their evolution, while QualityCheck verifies the information contained in booking records.

Watabi specializes in creating customized travel proposals. IaQoBo allows users to search for and book services from multiple sources. Sasha centralizes file access and operational communications. OSMan is dedicated to inventory management.

This specialization explains the advanced complementarity with Orchestra. Travelsoft's platform already covers the booking and distribution of several categories of tourism products, while Afidium brings more targeted functions to airline processes and file handling.

A new acquisition in an already very large group

Travelsoft reports processing over €50 billion in bookings annually for professionals in more than 90 countries. These figures represent the value of transactions processed through its platforms, not the group's revenue.

The company claims to have over 700 employees specializing in travel technologies. Before the integration of Afidium, its press release listed twelve platforms, including Orchestra, Atcore, Travel Compositor, Travelgate, traffics, Tigerbay, and Travelsoft Pay.

According to the specialized press, this acquisition comes after several external growth operations carried out by Travelsoft in France and internationally. It confirms the group's desire to broaden the functional coverage of its solutions.

What this acquisition really changes for professionals

In the immediate term, the operation primarily changes Afidium's shareholding structure. Management remains in place and no mandatory migration, product discontinuation, or contractual modifications have been announced.

In the medium term, this integration could facilitate the development of connections between Afidium's tools and the Orchestra platform. However, its appeal to agencies and tour operators will depend on the quality of the integrations, their cost, and the actual operational gains achieved.

The acquisition therefore does not yet constitute a concrete transformation of the tools used by professionals. It provides Travelsoft with new technological building blocks and opens an integration phase whose results will need to be observed in the coming months.
