A raw and minimalist architecture

Designed by architect Eric Chavoix, the establishment is a masterpiece of elegance and simplicity, combining the raw material of wood with clean lines. Its aesthetic is reminiscent of the Land of the Rising Sun. Constructed entirely of charred wood, the hotel is nonetheless bright and airy thanks to natural ventilation. It blends seamlessly into the surrounding nature, which it is committed to preserving through various initiatives, and seems to float between two infinite blues: that of the sky and the Indian Ocean.

A parenthesis in time

Spanning 3 hectares of savannah in Trois Bassins, not far from the seaside resort of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, 84 rooms, suites, and private villas with plunge pools and a heated infinity pool welcome travelers to a pristine natural setting for a complete sensory experience and immediate relaxation. Calm and comfortable, the Wood Hotel & Spa, in its enchanting surroundings, is an ideal starting point for nature and cultural getaways. The Indian Ocean is a fantastic playground that no tourist can resist. The Trois Bassins forest offers moments of tranquility in the shade of tamarind trees for hikers and cyclists. The ascent of Grand-Bénare promises action and excitement as you climb, offering breathtaking views from its 2,896-meter summit of the Mafate and Cilaos cirques and the coastline. The birdsong transports travelers to an enchanting and soothing interlude. As for the village, with its colorful huts, local products and crafts, it has managed to retain a certain authenticity that is highly valued by those who love traditions and stories.

Pleasures of the senses

Le Songe, a 300m² spa with a structure blending wood and vegetation and opening onto the outdoors, aims to immerse guests in a world of well-being. Five treatment rooms, including two double cabins, a hammam, whirlpool baths, phyto-aromatherapy, a full range of treatments, a tea room… Everything in this space is designed to promote relaxation and sensory pleasure.

The pleasures of the table are not forgotten either. The restaurant Le Grand Natte is a true invitation to discover and savor the products and recipes of Réunion Island. Chef Marcelin Pallin uses local, sustainably sourced ingredients to prepare delicious and authentic dishes that blend tradition and modernity.

Le Basalte bar offers exceptional coffee and locally inspired drinks. In the evenings, the stage hosts live bands, creating memorable moments. Savane prepares spicy, sweet, and creative cocktails by the infinity pool, overlooking the ocean. Finally, the Wine Workshop offers weekly guided tastings led by a passionate sommelier.

An environmentally conscious address

Designed to address environmental challenges, the Wood Hotel & Spa is committed to obtaining the European Ecolabel. Using natural and high-quality materials to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, the hotel optimizes natural light and ventilation to minimize the need for air conditioning. It utilizes LED lighting, energy-efficient faucets, and solar water heaters, and carefully manages the irrigation of its green spaces.

Supporting the local economy allows the hotel to reduce its environmental impact.

By choosing to stay at the Wood Hotel & Spa, the traveler treats themselves to a luxurious eco-responsible escape to discover Reunion Island.
